Vit fara at hyggja nærri at, hvussu føroyingar svaraðu, og hvat hetta merkir fyri framtíðina á føroyska málinum. Møguleiki verður eisini at seta spurningar.

How do we speak non-binary in Faroese?

Faroese is a language that is largely gendered. But which pronouns do we use if we are neither male nor female? How do we avoid gendered language, and how does our language actually develop and change?

At this event, Sigmundur Mørkøre will present the interesting results from the “Non-binary Census” by Fornøvn.fo, which is the largest survey of non-binary language in the Faroe Islands. We will take a closer look at how the Faroese people responded, and what this means for the future of the Faroese language. There will also be an opportunity to ask questions.

After the presentation, there will be time for discussion and socializing, where we can talk further about the topic.

LGBT+ Føroyar will provide coffee, tea, and cake.

The event is free and takes place in Perlan, Tórsgøta 3.
